We are recognised for our expertise in complex, high-value cases heard in the Commercial List of the High Court and our experienced investigations practice. We represent corporates, financial institutions and insurance bodies, government entities and state bodies, professional organisations, and private individuals, and work with the most prominent firms from around the world.

Our Litigation, Dispute Resolution and Investigations practice is market-leading. We have wide-ranging experience in all types of commercial and corporate disputes, including those arising from commercial agreements and operations, the financial markets, mergers and acquisitions, share dealings and other corporate and banking transactions. We also assist clients to prevent disputes before they occur.
We have expertise in all forms of alternative dispute resolution, including arbitrations, mediations, conciliations and expert determinations. Our international arbitration team acts for clients in high-value, multi-party and complex cross-jurisdictional arbitrations for clients in every business sector.
We have wide-ranging experience in dealing with investigations and have played a significant role in many of the most important regulatory investigations and statutory inquiries in Ireland in recent years.
We also have a dedicated Legal Tech team to deal with discovery, document review and data management, now a major aspect of all litigation, disputes and investigations, in order to effectively manage the costs and client time involved.
Relevant Experience
- Acting for financial institutions in the Central Bank of Ireland’s industry-wide tracker mortgages investigation and other CBI investigations.
- Successfully represented Ulster Bank in landmark tracker mortgage appeal. The Court of Appeal ruled in favour of Ulster Bank, overturning a previous decision by the High Court regarding tracker mortgage disputes.
- Successfully defending Hines Real Estate Ireland in multiple cases challenging to the grant of planning permission for over 1,100 residential units in Dublin.
- Acting for Eir on the first-ever case testing the investigative powers of the Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg) regarding search and seizure under the newly amended section 61 of the Communications Regulation Act 2002.
- Acting for Deloitte & Touche Ireland on a High Court action by former audit client, The Football Association of Ireland and separately in the defence of High Court proceedings arising from the infamous Bernie Madoff Ponzi Scheme.
- Successfully represented Energia Group in their High Court challenge against the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CORU), securing a landmark ruling on compensation for renewable energy shutdown.
- Acting for Ryanair in Commercial Court proceedings it has issued against the operators of various flight comparison websites for alleged screen-scraping and breach of copyright and other IP rights and passing off, and breach of the terms of a licensing agreement relating to the use of Ryanair’s data.
- Representing CRH plc and Roadstone Limited on their successful defence of c.400 cases alleging defective construction materials.
- Represented Volvo and Renault Trucks in over 50 High Court proceedings following a European Commission decision on unlawful truck pricing practices.
- Acting for Meta (Facebook) in defending Irish High Court proceedings brought by public figures in relation to alleged fake advertisements appearing on its platform.
