Azahara is an Associate Director in the Governance, Risk and Compliance Consulting team. She has over 17 years’ experience in professional and consulting services.​

Her areas of expertise include corporate compliance, regulatory implementation, enterprise risk management, and forensic and financial crime, primarily within the financial services and funds sector.​

Azahara supports clients in areas such as designing compliance frameworks, remediation projects, conduct risk and governance, as well as helping organizations to convert regulatory requirements into a competitive advantage. ​

Prior to joining the firm, Azahara previously spent seven years in a leadership position in a global provider of investment advisory services. She has held positions as a lawyer, a compliance specialist and an adviser in the largest professional services firms, with a working history in EMEA, Asia Pacific and the Americas. ​

  • Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for an Irish investment firm. ​
  • Design and implementation of Compliance Programmes, Financial Crime Frameworks, Policies and Procedures for many regulated financial services entities. Implementation of Risk Management processes at all levels. ​
  • Integral advisory services for companies in high-profile cases and day to day matters involving AML/CTF, ABC, Tax Evasion and Sanctions.​
  • Assisting an Irish regulated bank to improve the Conduct Risk and Corporate Governance practices, as part of a planned remediation arising from CBI regulatory inspection.  ​
  • Leading interactions with the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI), ensuring that all CBI communications are addressed in accordance with CBI expectations, as well as interactions with EU and US regulators. ​
  • Advising on white collar crime procedures.​
