Aoife is Of Counsel in our Technology and Innovation Group and advises on data protection and privacy, information technology and digital services and outsourcing.  She has significant experience advising clients on digital regulation and enforcement by regulatory bodies.   

Aoife advises on data privacy issues and commercial contracts for a range of domestic and international clients, including international technology companies, financial institutions and multinational corporates.  Her data privacy work includes advising on all aspects of GDPR compliance and regulatory investigations.  She has represented clients in their dealings with the Data Protection Commission, ranging from amicable resolution stage to formal domestic and cross border investigations.  Aoife’s commercial contract work involves advising on agreements with a technology element, including high value outsourcing projects for financial institutions and other regulated firms.  

Aoife also advises on intellectual property and freedom of information matters. 

Relevant Experience

  • Advising private sector clients, including international technology companies, on all aspects of data protection compliance, including international transfers of personal data, data breaches, risk assessments and risk management and data subject rights.
  • Representing clients, including technology companies, financial institutions and public bodies, on engagements with the Data Protection Commission and other regulatory bodies from initial investigation through to final decision.
  • Advising financial institutions and regulated firms on outsourcing projects and IT contracts (including SaaS contracts).
  • Advising on data issues and transitional services arrangements in the context of high value corporate transactions.
