In this short video, our Head of ESG Sarah Thompson looks back at the events that took place during the week. This included the session she participated in, which looked at advancing gender equality in sustainable finance, and how this can drive sustainable economic growth, and our collaborative event with Euronext on transition finance and bond issuances, which featured Aisling Kelly and Maedhbh Clancy from our Finance Group.

I’m Sarah Thompson, head of ESG at Arthur Cox. Sustainable Finance Week brought together leaders, innovators and change makers from across sectors to take stock and explore how we can drive real, impactful change in sustainable finance practises as sponsors of the week. Arthur Cox lawyers were delighted to be part of an inspiring few days of storytelling, collaboration and thought leadership.

During Sustainable Finance Week, I saw a strong emphasis on innovation, from advancing green finance solutions to embedding sustainability into core investment strategies. I took part in a session on advancing gender equality in sustainable finance and how this can drive sustainable economic growth. My colleagues Aisling Kelly and Maedhbh Clancy took part in an event in collaboration with Euronext Dublin. Their panel considered transition finance and bond issuances, exploring their role in driving sustainable economic growth and supporting the transition to a low carbon economy. Following so closely after COP29 in Baku, this week of events reaffirmed the critical role that finance plays in facilitating and driving change as we face up to a worldwide challenge to bring our industrial and economic lives into balance with the planet we call home.
