The President has signed the Workplace Relations (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2021 into law. The purpose of the Act is to amend the Workplace Relations Act 2015 to address concerns raised by the Supreme Court in Zalweski v An Adjudication Officer and Others about the manner in which the Workplace Relations Commission operates. The Act allows for public hearings and the publication of party names in decisions of the WRC, as well as making provision for adjudicator officers to take evidence on oath or affirmation.
