We are pleased to announce the appointment of eight new Of Counsel across the firm in Construction and Engineering, Debt Finance, Energy, Life Sciences, Capital Markets, Litigation, Dispute Resolution and Investigations and Technology and Innovation.  These appointments reflect our commitment to supporting the professional growth of our people, while continuing to deliver the highest quality of service to our clients across all industries.

About our new Of Counsel:

Orla Clayton, Of Counsel, Life Sciences

Orla leads the knowledge function in the firm’s Life Sciences Group. She has extensive experience in advising the life sciences, food, alcoholic beverage, agribusiness, healthcare, cosmetics, consumer goods and retail sectors and has advised on both general and sector-specific EU and national requirements in relation to a wide range of products. Orla has a particular background in life sciences disputes involving large scale multiple plaintiff claims with a multi-jurisdictional dimension.

Fiona Cotter, Of Counsel, Capital Markets

Fiona advises on a wide range of capital markets and other structured finance transactions, including debt offerings, securitisation and asset-backed financing, and regulatory compliance. She rejoins Arthur Cox from Linklaters in London where she spent over 7 years in their Structure Finance Group as well as having been seconded to a leading US investment bank.

Edel Curry, Of Counsel, Litigation, Dispute Resolution and Investigations

Edel leads the knowledge function in the firm’s Litigation, Dispute Resolution and Investigations Group. She has extensive experience advising on high-value and complex disputes across a range of areas including the financial services, real estate, intellectual property, technology and aviation sectors. Edel is responsible for legal and commercial awareness, the publication of updates and the development and implementation of strategic initiatives in the areas of know-how and precedent development.

Katrina Donnelly, Of Counsel, Energy and Construction and Engineering

Katrina leads the knowledge function in the firm’s Energy and Construction and Engineering Groups. With extensive experience in energy sector regulation, she ensures the firm stays at the forefront of legal, regulatory and commercial developments.  She advises on a range of matters across the areas of energy and energy transition, spearheads strategic initiatives in know-how, risk management and precedent development, and provides education through training and tailored updates.

Ciara Dooley, Of Counsel, Construction and Engineering

Ciara advises on contentious and non-contentious construction and public procurement matters. She works with domestic and international clients, including institutional investors, developers, and funders, on development financings and construction-related real estate transactions. Ciara specialises in public procurement law and has a wide range of experience in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements and construction documents, providing general commercial law advice to clients across the construction, infrastructure, and energy sectors.

Audrey Hughes, Of Counsel, Debt Finance

Audrey’s experience includes advising financial institutions and borrowers on domestic and cross-border financing transactions, including secured and unsecured debt finance structures, with a particular emphasis on project finance, including renewable energy projects, and infrastructure projects. Audrey has advised all of the major Irish banks together with syndicates made up of international lenders and has advised developers across a wide range of sectors.

Aoife Mac Ardle, Of Counsel, Technology and Innovation

Aoife advises on data protection and privacy, information technology, digital services, and outsourcing.  Her work includes advising on all aspects of GDPR compliance, as well as advising on services agreements with a technology element, including high-value outsourcing projects.  Aoife has significant experience advising clients on the intersection of digital regulation and enforcement by regulatory bodies.  

Ben Rayner, Of Counsel, Debt Finance

Ben advises financial institutions, sponsors, funds and corporates on domestic and cross-border financings. He has extensive experience advising on a variety of financing transactions, including leveraged and acquisition financing, fund financing and corporate lending. Prior to joining the firm, Ben worked for international law firms in London and also has experience on secondment to the legal teams of an alternative asset manager and an investment bank.
