Arthur Cox named M&A Legal Adviser of the Year
Arthur Cox was named M&A Legal Adviser of the Year for Ireland at last night’s Mergermarket European M&A Awards 2021 in London.
The Awards recognise the achievements of Europe’s top dealmakers and reward innovative advisory work on some of the region’s most transformative deals of the past year. An M&A Award from Mergermarket is true recognition of an outstanding year.
Commenting on the award, Partner and Head of Corporate and M&A, Cian McCourt, said: “2021 saw remarkable levels of M&A activity in Ireland and internationally. Deals led by the Arthur Cox M&A team in 2021 include advising: Permanent TSB plc on its proposed acquisition of certain elements of the Ulster Bank retail, SME and asset finance business from Ulster Bank; Flutter Entertainment plc on multiple transactions including its acquisition of Sisal S.p.A. from CVC Capital Partners Fund VI, the sale of Oddschecker Global Media to Bruin Capital and on its accelerated acquisition of 37.2% of FanDuel Group Parent LLC (“FanDuel”) from Fastball Holdings LLC.; Hg on its investment in BrightPay and Relate Software; HT Materials Science on a €5 million investment round which was led by Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures and Progress Tech Transfer; the lenders to Clayton, Dubilier & Rice on its acquisition of UDG Healthcare plc; Orsted A/S on its acquisition of Brookfield Renewable; and Total Produce plc on its combination with Dole Food Company, Inc. and the subsequent IPO of Dole plc.
Earlier this year, Arthur Cox also topped Mergermarket’s official league table for 2021 of Irish M&A legal advisers by deal volume for the fourth year in succession.
