Arthur Cox named European Corporate Team of the Year
Arthur Cox was named European Corporate Team of the Year at The Lawyer European Awards 2020 which took place virtually yesterday.
The annual awards recognise and celebrate excellence across the European legal market and attract entries from over 120 independent law firms headquartered in Europe and global firms throughout the Continent.
The firm was highlighted for its excellence in client service, management of complex deals, and, in particular, on advising Allergan plc on its acquisition by AbbVie Inc. The transaction, with an enterprise value of approximately $83 billion, was one of the three largest M&A deals in the world to be announced in 2019, and the largest ever in Ireland.
Cian McCourt, Head of Corporate and M&A at Arthur Cox, commented: “We are very pleased to receive the award of European Corporate Team of the Year. It is a recognition of the strength of our team at Arthur Cox and our position as Ireland’s leading Corporate and M&A practice. Over the past year, we have supported our clients on some of the most significant Irish and international deals”.
Other deals led by the Arthur Cox Corporate and M&A team in 2020 include advising: Aon on its all-share combination with Willis Towers Watson; Further Global Capital Management on its acquisition of the AA Ireland group; LRN Corporation on its acquisition of Interactive Services; Openet on its acquisition by Amdocs; Madison Dearborn Partners on its acquisition of IPL Plastics Inc. and Flutter Entertainment plc on its all-share acquisition of The Stars Group.
